IONTOPHORESIS

It is an electrotherapy procedure involving the introducing into the tissues by means of the electric fields the ions acting therapeutically. Therefore, only electrolytic dissociative chemicals can be used for iontophoresis. Chemical compounds having such properties are called electrolytes. The duration of the procedure and the appropriate medicine are determined by the physician.
